We build the edge layer we always wanted to buy
AnyLB exists because every platform team we know ends up writing the same routing, failover and logging code — badly, at 3 a.m., six months before they needed to. We turned that code into a product.
Make global API infrastructure a configuration decision, not a project
For most of the last decade, putting an API in front of a global audience meant either accepting a single-region deployment or spending a quarter on anycast, BGP and cross-region failover. Neither option is acceptable when your customers are in twenty countries and your latency budget is measured in tens of milliseconds.
AnyLB collapses that project into a CNAME change and a configuration file. We do not run our own hardware — Cloudflare already operates the network we need. What we build is the reasoning on top of it: which origin should answer this request, when should we abandon one, and how do we prove afterwards exactly what happened.

How we work
Four principles we hold ourselves to
These are the tests a feature has to pass before it ships.
Boring where it matters
Load balancing is infrastructure. We ship predictable behaviour, document it precisely, and never rewrite the model mid-quarter.
Observable by default
If we cannot explain a routing decision from the logs alone, the feature is not finished. Explainability ships with the capability.
Boundaries over breadth
We do HTTP/HTTPS load balancing for APIs and nothing else. Four things done exceptionally beat forty done adequately.
Latency is the product
Every millisecond we add is one your users feel. We measure added latency as closely as we measure uptime.

From internal tool to managed platform
AnyLB was a pattern before it was a product.

The pattern
Our founders were running API platforms and kept rebuilding the same routing and failover logic on top of Cloudflare at every company they joined.
- 2024
Internal tool
The first version ran inside three companies as an internal service, quietly routing a few billion requests a month.
- 2025
Becoming a platform
Health checking, failover policy and per-request logging were consolidated into a managed product with an API, CLI and Terraform provider.
- 2026
Generally available
AnyLB opened to all customers with a free tier, an SLA-backed Business plan and a documented enterprise onboarding path.
